Organ Facade
case

The organ facade must be asthetically pleasing and be functional. It cannot in any way impede or compromise the sound of the pipes, it must blend in with the overall architecture of the building it sits in, and compliment the pipes themselves.
The facade of the organ is something which is normally constructed by the organ builder. And while the primary function of the organ builder is, well, to build organs, generally they also do a fine job developing some very impressive organ facades as well. However, the facade of the St. Andrew Austin is somewhat unique in that it was built not by Austin or a subcontractor, but by a parishoner of St. Andrew. Click on the links below to read more.
